Jakarta DPRD's Commission Chairman B Chairman Abdul Aziz has called on the executive to prepare steps to anticipate rising food prices ahead of Ramadan.
According to him, it was very important, as the situation of Ramadan this year would be different than previous year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He explained that there were three things that must be controlled ahead of Ramadan, namely the availability of food stocks, the distribution process and maintaining price stability.
Therefore the city should collaborate with BUMDs in the field of food and other related agencies to conduct market monitoring to eliminate speculators.
"Hopefully it can be anticipated thus Jakartans can enjoy Ramadan solemnly," he closed.
